Saw drifto

I was hella stoked when Paul asked me to add some art to the white cloud worlds book, and when I saw the three pieces he chose, I thought I would do something new for it. I had already started on this piece a month before, so I thought I would finish it off for it.
ATA helped me find a better composition so shout outs to him, and skull 4 a face for the stars!
The v-twin circular saw is a silly idea that wouldn't work, so to make it more ridiculous I would let have a go at the rad sport of drifting!
This was a fun piece to do as I got to draw tons of sparks and that cat with a cell phone lighting the way in his mouth, and a FD chasing hard :]
I added a blurry bung thing below the corner sign that isn't in the book version. I thought I would add this creature wandering in the background in future illustrations with these characters as it is what it does.
There was another vehicle I wanted to put in the pic, but thought it would have an unfair power advantage and look too BA.
so this got shopped in instead :U

Page full of thungs

Been sketching away at this pic for over a year (yeah I'm hella slow!) but finally got them all together and pencilled them up on a single page with some real simple shading. Might colour it one day when I get bored of css maybe.
Pretty much a bunch of characters I created when I started drawing and have slowly evolved over time. Building up their back stories, and illustrating moments I might find interesting.
Thanks Leri for helping out with the composition and bits along the way too!
Cheers for dropping by!

You never chose me...

Sketched this years ago when I worked retail at the old Gamesman shop with boss sandwich doctor. I decided to have a quick go at using some soft brushes to paint this one up for a change.

Kinda frightening the thought of being a pokemon and being put in Bill's PC forever D:

White Cloud Worlds

Letting the few know on this blog that this book is coming out on the 1st of November filled to the brim (if a book has those) of rad NZ art!
Here is the cover of it so you know what it looks like when you walk into a book shop, or on the interwebs.

I was lucky enough to be invited at the final min to join this sweet project set up by Paul Tobin and Kate Jorgensen with other titans of art who live on a fish and a canoe. I only have three pieces in there, but bloody stoked to be a part of this as it contains artist I respect a whole bunch.
For all the info on the exhibition that will follow it and a chance to get some of us to scribble our names into it for you, check out this site for those details http://www.whitecloudworlds.com
And to get one of the limited boxed version with print head over to the Weta Shop to reserve your copy.
KAFC!
